Raincity Rap Urban Music Festival

An Urban Music Festival and Conference

Miscellaneous Productions presents

Raincity Rap Urban Music Festival

2011 & 2013

Following a successful premiere in 2011, MISCELLANEOUS Productions’ Raincity Rap Urban Music festival and conference returned October 4 – 5, 2013 to Vancouver’s Roundhouse Community Arts and Recreation Centre. Raincity Rap Urban Music featured hip hop artists Maestro Fresh Wes, Kinnie Starr and Chin Injeti during two days of industry panels, in-depth interviews, exclusive celebrity jam sessions, specific all-ages and free performances including a section of MISCELLANEOUS Productions’ hit hip hop musical Kutz & Dawgs, and a closing night urban music contest at the Fortune Sound Club.

The festival and conference provided opportunities to gain an appreciation of the art of hip hop and inside knowledge of the music industry with panelists such as Jonathan Simkin, Ari Wise and Kia Kadiri. All three featured celebrity artists were interviewed individually by Dr. Charity Marsh and Elaine Carol.

“MISCELLANEOUS Productions' Raincity Rap Urban Music festival was really important for the hip hop community in Vancouver.  It's one of the only times we can get together to talk about our art form without screaming over live music.  I really appreciated the discussion in 2011.”
